Reporting someone

Every profile and every post has a report option. Open the profile or post, tap the menu, and choose Report. You'll be asked what the problem is and can add anything else we should know.

Reports go straight to a real person and are reviewed within 24 hours. The person you reported is never told who reported them.

Please report anyone who:

• Sends unwanted sexual content or messages
• Harasses, threatens, or won't take no for an answer
• Appears to be using someone else's photos
• Asks you for money, gift cards, crypto, or investment help
• Tries to move you onto another platform unusually quickly
• Appears to be under 18
• Posts hate speech or attacks people for who they are

Blocking someone

Blocking is immediate and works in both directions. Once you block someone, neither of you can see the other's profile or posts, and neither can message the other. They are not told they've been blocked.

You don't need a reason and you don't have to report someone to block them. Manage your blocked list in Settings → Privacy & safety.

Recognising a scam

Romance scams follow a pattern, and knowing it is most of the defence. Be suspicious of anyone who:

• Falls for you extraordinarily fast, before you've really talked
• Has a story that always prevents a video call — deployed overseas, working on a rig, camera broken
• Moves you to WhatsApp, Telegram or text within the first few messages
• Eventually mentions an emergency involving money
• Offers to teach you about crypto or an investment opportunity
• Has photos that look like a professional shoot, or a profile with almost nothing personal in it

Never send money to someone you haven't met. Not a loan, not a favour, not to help with a flight. That request is the scam, however long they spent building up to it.

Before you meet

• Video call first. A few minutes rules out most fake profiles.
• Meet somewhere public — a café, a bar, somewhere with other people. Not their place, not yours, not a remote spot.
• Get yourself there and back. Your own transport means you can leave whenever you want.
• Tell someone. Who you're meeting, where, when you expect to be home. Share your location with a friend for the evening.
• Keep your phone charged and on you.
• Watch your drink. Order it yourself, keep it in sight, don't accept one you didn't see poured.
• Hold back personal details — your home address, where exactly you work, financial information — until you know someone properly.

Leaving

You never need a reason or an excuse. If something feels off, it's enough. Tell the staff if you'd rather not walk out alone — most bars and restaurants will help without asking questions, and they've done it before.

Afterwards, block and report. Not because you owe us anything, but because the person who made you uncomfortable is likely doing it to other people.

What we do and don't do

We review reports, remove content, and terminate accounts. We refer serious matters — anything involving a minor or a credible threat — to law enforcement.

We do not run background checks or verify anyone's criminal history. A profile appearing on Glimpse is not a vouch for that person. Please take the precautions above regardless of how someone seems.
